I just finished my first week in the mastery program at the Milan Institute of Art. I have been on fire, and have painted more in the last three months preparing for this program than I have painted in years!
The Milan Institute is a school created and run by a family of artists. They have perfected a program for artists, both beginners and advanced, to find their artistic voice and become professional artists. It is a warm community and I have loved every minute that I have been involved. They have an Art Club and workshops as well as the Mastery Program, so artists at every level can participate.
I'm planning on documenting my progress on my blog and eventually on my Youtube channel as I get further along in journey. Here are some of my projects from my first week...
Kingfisher at Rest
My kingfisher painting is oil on canvas, 20" x 16". I painted this from a photo I took on my photography safari in Botswana on the Chobe River in 2018.

This is a value lesson from week 1. It is good to get back to basics. It has been a long time since I just drew with graphite. |
Check back for updates on my progress through the program. Some of my paintings will be available for sale as well!
